A battery mould casts panels in the vertical position rather than flat. Several panels are produced at once between movable compartments placed side by side, which markedly reduces the factory floor area needed for the same output.
Because both sides are mould faces, both panel surfaces come out smooth and no trowelling is needed. Compartments can be built heated to shorten curing time.
